The Advisor, Online Enrollment assists students with the online enrollment process to help students achieve their educational goals. Moreover, the Advisor, Online Enrollment builds positive mentoring relationships with students and strives to resolve issues that may impede student success.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                           
Works cooperatively with staff and faculty as a student advocate. Interviews prospective students, answers their questions, and helps them to identify personal and professional goals. Advises and assists continuing and re-entry students to register for proper courses. Makes decisions and recommendations concerning admissions. Refers prospective students to a financial representative to discuss financial aid opportunities. Maintains consistent communication with all students throughout the admissions process.  Evaluates and monitors student academic progress and choices. Assists students with transfer planning and opportunities. Participates in professional development and training to enhance advising skills. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions
As the initial Division of Continuing and International Education (DCIE) representative to prospective students, the Enrollment Representative will advise, guide, educate, consult, and support qualified potential students in achieving their professional and personal goals by enrolling in one of the DCIE’s programs. The Enrollment Representative is expected to engage in consultative, relationship-building activities to nurture qualified leads into applicants. The incumbent will be responsible for achieving the enrollment goals using lead outreach through calls, e-mails, and other contact activity and ensure completed applications are received and processed. The incumbent is expected to maintain a professional and positive attitude, exceptional customer service from lead stage through enrollment, foster beneficial working relationships, and display exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Essential Job Functions
•    Sell programs to prospective students to ensure revenue meets or exceeds budgeted revenue for fiscal year.
•    Assess prospective students and determine if they are qualified to apply and enroll in various programs.
•    Receive and follow-up on prospective students via phone, email, online, social media, chat, and direct mail.
•    Qualify and advise prospective students for various programs.
•    Assist prospective students with the enrollment process.
•    Build rapport and provide guidance for prospective students interested in a program.
•    Consistently review prospective students in the application process to ensure they are informed of their requirements and deadlines.
•    Review all prospective students and help to administer the admissions decisions process
•    In consultation with the Enrollment Manager, determine if a case is a special admission case or ambiguous case for admission and make requests for review or for exception to policies.
•    Working closely with the DCIE marketing, programming, and finance, to share feedback on prospective student pipeline and market opportunities.
•    Communicate with potential applicants on requirements, policies and procedures, and related issues.
•    Ensure organizational policy and procedures are followed regarding security and confidentiality pertaining to the collection/or use of personally identifiable information.
•    Strictly adhere to organization procedures regarding security and confidential of student financial and FERPA protected information.
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree required.
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, account management or relationship building in Higher Education (Admission, Academic Advising, Financial Aid or Registrar).
•    Working knowledge of Mircosoft Office software
•    Skilled in the use of computerized systems and databases, customer relationship management systems, Salesforce preferred
•    Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
•    Excellent time management skills.
•    Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
•    Strong ability to work well under time pressure and meet deadlines and goals.
•    Ability to communicate effectively via internet-based media or social media.
•    Ability to work in a faced paced environment.
•    Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
•    Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
•    Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
•    Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
•    Ability to understand and follow instructions.
•    Customer service oriented.
