| Position Summary | This position is a temporary part-time Advanced Perinatal Health Information Technology and Data Analyst with the Department of OB-GYN. The position will serve as the Co-Director of the Perinatal Research Service Center (PRSC). The position will average about five hours per week, and the duties and responsibilities are as follows: – Perinatal Research Service Center (PRSC) Co-Director The analyst will co-direct the Perinatal Research Service Center, working closely with the clinical co-director to ensure development of accurate computed phenotypes for perinatal conditions. The PRSC curates and distributes data for research. The PRSC is a crucial element to improve and promote perinatal clinical research inside and outside UNC/UNC-Health. In this role, the analyst engages with stakeholders across the University and the health system, managing relationships with NC TRaCS, UNC School of Medicine, Gillings School of Global Public Health, and UNC Health. – Information Strategy for the Perinatal Research Service Center (PRSC) at UNC SOM The analyst will develop, evolve, and implement an integrated perinatal data strategy to extract data from the Clinical Data Warehouse via SAP–HANA to provide cohesive integrated perinatal data sets to support quality improvement, process improvement, and research. This is a highly complex analytical project that requires synthesis of disparate data sources, both from UNC Health and from other entities. These data require nuanced attention to multiple levels of granularity, as an individual patient can have more than one pregnancy, and each pregnancy can result in more than one infant. – Develop and validate perinatal phenotypes and metrics The analyst will conceptualize, develop, and oversee a seamless process for development of perinatal phenotypes and metrics that become available for QI, PI, and clinical research. The analyst will maintain a process to define and document the metric criteria, and they will publish and distribute the metrics using Tableau Data Sources, and Tableau Server Dashboards. – Perinatal Research Service Center (PRSC) Perinatal Data Requests The analyst will provide data sets for PRSC Perinatal Data Requests. These data requests must have an IRB approved study, and the request must follow the NC-TraCS process. In this role, the analyst manages relationships with multiple study teams. This work is essential to provide research teams with integrated data sets and ensure compliance university compliance with state, federal and funding agency regulations. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Masters’ and 2-4 years’ experience; or Bachelors and 3-5 years’ experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. |

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | – At least 4 years of experience working with perinatal data and Tableau Desktop – Master’s level training in computer science – At least 10 years of data management experience in relational databases Prefer Certification in Project Management and Epic Clarity models. |
