Required Qualifications:

• Education: M.D., D.O. or equivalent and ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry. The candidate must hold a medical license (or be eligible for licensure) in the State of Kansas.
• Work Experience:1 – 3 years in an academic teaching center and ambulatory experience.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: M.D., D.O. or equivalent and ABPN board certification/board eligibility in General Psychiatry. The candidate must hold a medical license (or be eligible for licensure) in the State of Kansas.
  Work Experience: Ambulatory experience.
   

Job Description

• Provide direct services to patients within the Ambulatory service area and perform psychiatric evaluations. 
• Perform psychiatric evaluations, both in-person and telehealth.
• Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including diagnostic assessment, medication evaluation and management, crisis intervention and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat disorders.
• Orders diagnostic tests and consultations and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions.
• Review, evaluate and consult with other psychiatrists and medical professionals regarding treatment procedures and outcomes.
• Participate in supervision and teaching in support of the psychiatric residency program, psychology trainees and students in areas of faculty’s expertise in didactic lectures and clinical settings. 
• Participate in clinical and administrative on-call activities, weekend call, continuous performance improvement and participate in Medical School and Department committees as needed.
