About the Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, skilled individual to join our busy and friendly admissions team as an Admissions Officer.
About You
The ideal candidate for this permanent position will have recent experience of working in an administrative role supporting the recruitment or admission of students, preferably in a central admissions team in higher education. Experience of offer-making under delegated authority from academic departments will be an advantage.
You will be an individual who is equally capable of working independently and as a member of a team. You will be well-organised, able to prioritise and capable of working under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy. You will be IT literate, with experience of using complex databases in an academic context, and have excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. You will be capable of carrying out tasks and making decisions consistently within a clear policy and regulatory framework, referring to managers only in complex cases.
About the Department
Admissions Officers are members of our central Admissions team, which handles undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programme applications to all the university’s Schools and Institutes. Our Admissions Officers are assigned either to the Postgraduate or Undergraduate team but are expected to work flexibly across team boundaries to ensure that applicants receive a consistently good service during peak times. This role will be primarily based within the Undergraduate Admissions Team.

The post is based at Department W, located between our Mile End and Whitechapel Campus’. It is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent position, with an immediate start date.
The starting salary will be Grade 4, from £35,775 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Appointments will normally be made at the bottom of the scale.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
