Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong organizational and public speaking skills. Ability to talk knowledgeably about UAF and answer questions involving individual programs, financial aid, student services, residence life, advising, etc. Demonstrated leadership, decision making, writing and editing skills. Ability to coordinate/schedule large and small events. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a project to completion. Must be able to think creatively, maintain confidentiality, and work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations. Ability to travel is required. Ability to represent the admissions profession positively through a strong, student-centered ethic. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Basic familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software tools
Typical Experience:
Public, interpersonal and small group communication experience. Experience working with people in a student centered or customer service oriented setting. Experience within higher education or in a business setting.Experience coordinating programs.
Required Education or Training:
Bachelor’s degree required and two years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid driver’s license.
Salary Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 78, based on education and experience.
