| Position Summary | Provides support and administrative assistance to the director of the Master of Public Health Program (MPH) and provides support for MPH-related academic activities of the faculty. Similar support for other HSC department programs may be necessary (beyond MPH) as part of this role. |

| Duties & Responsibilities | Maintains set of budgetary records by performing bookkeeping related duties such as reconciling, monitoring, and tracking expenditures, preparing budget statements, and making recommendations regarding projected budgets for department. Prepares proper curricular forms as needed for the MPH degree including new program proposals, updates to master course syllabi, and other curricular changes as designated. Coordinates the scheduling of classes, including the wait list process, for MPH courses with department and college staff, the Registrar’s Office, and others at CMU. Responsible for preparing and submitting travel/employee reimbursement vouchers, credit card reconciliations, and ordering office supplies for the MPH program. Responsible for content of the MPH program website, assuring completeness, currency and consistency with university requirements to include coordinating with the College of Health Professions Communications and Marketing Coordinator, Graduate Studies, and Global Campus marketing personnel. Develops, maintains, and queries program and university databases (e.g. Data Warehouse) including academic program plans, enrollment information, demographic information, academic forms, and other data and information requirements including an alumni database for program. Coordinates accreditation activities including organizing a system for collection of information, updating CEPH accreditation templates, compiling supporting documentation, coordination of events to meet CEPH expectations, and collaborating with internship coordinators to fulfil accreditation, assessment and review criteria. Responsible for administrative oversight of capstone course requirements, which includes identification and tracking of students completing each integrative learning experience option, assessment documents, and overall reporting for CEPH accreditation. Serves as a primary support staff personnel for the MPH program. Assists the Program Director in formatting, editing, and reviewing correspondences including confidential and sensitive documents. Performs and coordinates scheduling tasks and support services associated with preparing and making arrangements for major meetings, conferences, exhibits, travel, or other related duties for both internal and external contacts. Supervises student employment. Keeps program director’s calendar and scheduling of appointments/meetings. Coordinates and collaborates with Graduate Admissions, Global Campus, and other university academic support services personnel in recruitment and retention of students, to include assisting the program director in assuring timely admission reviews. Serves as the first line of service for students, independently responding to questions and referring students to appropriate personnel such as financial aid, veterans services, disability services, writing center, and student account services. Provides support to adjunct, fixed-term, tenure-track, and tenured faculty teaching both online and on-campus in the MPH degree including collecting and reporting MPH course textbooks to the CMU Bookstore and Global Campus, obtaining review copies of textbooks for faculty. Acts with a high degree of independence to answer inquiries and conduct problem solving as a liaison with internal and external contacts and in preparing meeting materials, meeting minutes, programs, updates, recruitment, and other support functions directly related to the work unit. Responsible for follow up and placing calls to potential applicants to increase the number of completed applications for admission in the online and on-campus MPH program. Coordinates PHP Advisory Board activities for CEPH accreditation purposes including arranging both face-to-face and WebEx meetings, corresponding with and sustaining contact with board members, linking students with board members, maintain board meeting minutes, and acknowledging board member contributions. Serves as the primary contact for coordinating Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities with the College of Medicine such as the Healthy Aging Initiative. |
