Position Summary:
 
The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is one of the five main components of the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences. In 2017, UCI received a $200 million naming gift – the largest donation in its history – from Susan and Henry Samueli, longtime campus supporters. This transformative gift created the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences (COHS), the first University-based health sciences enterprise in the nation to focus on interdisciplinary integrative health. SSIHI The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is an academic center for integrative health and medicine, providing the best scientific research, education and clinical care, integrating conventional and complementary medicine. Our mission is to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.
 
The Administrative Director for Education at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute will oversee educational programs that promote innovation, academic rigor, collaboration, cultural humility and the development of leaders in the field of integrative health and whole-person care. Programs include the Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate Program, Heal-IM (Family Medicine Residency Track), culinary medicine, naturopathic medicine residency, continuing medical education, and community education. Incumbent oversees program administration, program development, and student activities. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Recommends changes to department policies and practices. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provides priority setting and work flow analysis. Manages accreditation and program ranking surveys.
 
Compensation Range:
 
$95,300 – $140,400

Required:
 
5-7 Years previous experience in research supervision, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
Terminal degree in a related field preferred (PhD, JD, MD, etc.). Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Academic background and experience in relevant area of research. Knowledge of financial principles and budget practices. Demonstrated knowledge of program development as well as grant proposal development and administration. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and students in an academic or research setting. Demonstrated leadership skills including effective communication, negotiation, coaching, and conflict resolution. Demonstrated knowledge university, state, and federal policies that influence higher education. Ability to build relationships, collaborate and problem solve both internally and with external organizations. Knowledge of human resources management practices and policies. Advanced oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
