Summary of Job Duties:
The Administrative Coordinator for the Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI) Interventional Psychiatry services primarily provides high-level program support maintaining staff and patient appointment calendar and scheduling. The position uses knowledge of program business issues to assist patients, resolve problems, prepare correspondence, manage projects, and additional related activities. Other duties will include receiving all incoming inquiries for services/referrals, coordinating collection of medical record documentation, scheduling Interventional Psychiatry evaluations and appointments, participating in team meetings, and phone calls to families, mental health providers, and other medical professionals that pertain to referrals and questions. Client confidentiality will be a necessity. The position will require some clinical skill set as the position will capture clinical information from the medical chart for the purposes of obtaining insurance pre-approval.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree PLUS two (2) years of experience in general administrative office support OR Associates Degree PLUS four (4) years of experience in general administrative office support OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS six (6) years of experience in general administrative office support
Clinical administrative background
Strong organization skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office products
Responsibilities:
Receives inquiries for service and answers questions from general public regarding Interventional Psychiatry, directs potential patients regarding items required for referral, collects and organizes referral information for review by MD.
Schedules intake with MD.
Assists insurance verification team (Patient Representatives and Utilization Managers) in obtaining relevant data from medical chart for the purposes of insurance verification and approval
Participates in weekly staffing meetings to review patient progress and develop schedule for the following week based on clinical recommendations.
Monitors needs for re-evaluations and schedules with MD and communicates to patient.
Other duties as assigned.
