ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, PERSONAL ROBOTS, Media Lab (part-time, 20 hrs/wk), to provide varied and complex support for Professpr Cynthia Breazeal and the Personal Robots Group. Will perform financial and administrative tasks that include tracking the day-to-day spending for the group according to Media Lab and MIT procedures and compliance policy, including reconciliation of expenses; expense reimbursements; complex purchase orders and contracts; independent contractor coordination; financial review and control (FRC) reports; accounts payable; and maintaining records, invoices, receipts, etc., according to MIT’s record retention policy, etc. Will also be responsible for the use of MIT procurement and travel credit cards for the group, initiating PIPI forms for grant applications, and working with the fiscal officer to review budgets and spending.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ administrative, office, or related experience; excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with a diverse group of researchers, students, corporate sponsors, and administrators; excellent editing/proofreading skills and proficiency with business English grammar and composition; attention to detail; flexibility; strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; comfort working in a demanding, fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides) and the ability and willingness to quickly master new software programs as needed. Must be able to proactively engage and anticipate needs; work independently and as part of a team; and set priorities, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; interest or background in engineering of K-12 education discipline; and experience with MIT business apps, e.g., SAPgui, Concur, Google Workspace, and Dropbox.
