| Job Summary | Provides customer service and administrative support to industrial permitting activities in the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Water Quality Division. This position is funded through August 31st 2023. |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
|
| Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree with one year complex administrative support experience or high school diploma or equivalent with five years of increasingly responsible administrative, secretarial and clerical experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted as appropriate. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience answering, screening, and routing phone calls and emails; helping customers with technical questions; data entry and preparing correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents. |
| Working Conditions | Use of personal computer and standard office equipment. Usual indoor office environment. Infrequent travel (i.e., annually) for activities such as job skills training or participating in institutional and client meetings and conferences. |
| Special Conditions for Eligibility | Knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures; computer usage; customer service principles; business terminology; spelling; and grammar. Solid working database entry ability with capacity to learn the functions, programs and policies of the TCEQ. Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing; comparing data and information to determine discrepancies; maintaining records in accordance with institutional paper and electronic file management requirements; documenting work accurately; troubleshooting problems; and resolving customer inquiries in accordance with institutional standard operating procedures. |
