We are hugely excited to be looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our Executive Office. This would be a terrific role for a wide variety of candidates – both those with experience of providing outstanding administrative support, and those with little to no direct experience but who are passionate about the mission of the School and eager to learn and build their skills in an exciting environment.
For experienced administrative professionals
Are you a talented administrative professional eager to make a move? Perhaps the pandemic has given you a burning desire to come and work within an organisation that really cares about changing governments around the world for the better. You might have a small amount of administrative experience, or you might have significant amounts – either way, we’d love to hear from you.
For recent graduates
Are you just starting out in your career? Perhaps you’ve graduated recently and are not yet sure of the direction in which you want to take you career. If you’re efficient, diligent, quick to learn, and have strong writing skills – this could be the job for you.
Here at the Blavatnik School, those who have started out in Grade 4 roles in our Executive Office have gone on to flourish in their careers – either gaining promotions within the School or in other organisations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key role for the Blavatnik School of Government, working at the heart of the School to support the Co-Directors of our Master of Public Policy (MPP), Professor Ciaran Martin and Dr Tom Simpson. The role offers varied and interesting work within an exciting and supportive environment.
The role will give you great exposure to working with senior leaders in a successful and growing institution, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the School’s mission to see a world better led, better served, and better governed.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will relish a job where no two days are alike. You are someone who understands the importance of good professional administrative support and who therefore takes pride in and ownership of their work, delivering tasks to a very high standard and balancing the range of duties that the role of Administrative Assistant involves. You will deal with a wide range of matters, sometimes of a highly confidential nature, on behalf of the MPP Co-Directors. The post-holder will be the point of contact for internal and external visitors for the MPP Co-Directors, and act as a critical interface between the MPP Co-Directors and a wide range of contacts, often at senior and VIP levels.
You will be enthusiastic, diplomatic, have excellent judgement, and engender extremely high levels of trust from all those with whom you liaise. You will be a core member of a supportive and motivated team (the Executive Office), but you will carry significant responsibility and autonomy.
