Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 to support the Auxiliary Services team.

This position provides administrative support to the Assistant Director, Auxiliary Services, and department supervisors who oversee Dining Services, Vending, and Mailroom/Property Inventory functions at the college. Responsible for managing the daily office operations of the department including scheduling and meeting coordination. Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable, monitors and tracks budgets and payments. Develops spreadsheets and reports. Prepares deposits and handles financial transactions in Workday.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a problem solver, excellent communicator, and a dedicated team player. Must have experience with cash handling, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and have strong customer service skills. Experience with Excel/spreadsheets and Workday is highly desirable. The position requires honesty, dependability, flexibility, respect towards others, and a positive, can-do attitude. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR

  • One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Schedule

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27 (Entry, Step 01 $17.80/hr – Step 03, $19.32/hr)
