The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant 2, Department of Psychology, College of Liberal Arts [R0133651].

ROLE of the POSITION

The Department of Psychology is seeking an Administrative Assistant II, who will function as the receptionist and main contact for the department. The position assists students, faculty, and visitors with a variety of information and tasks. Tasks include but not limited to answering the department phone line, maintaining the department email account, manage mail distribution and collection, as well as ordering all department books, desk copies, keys, proximity cards, and maintaining spreadsheets for each. Other tasks include but not limited to proctoring student testing and makeup exams, assisting with updates to the department website, assisting with annual equipment inventory, annual space assessments, preparing statistical reports for assessment, and maintaining course syllabi files. The success candidate will work with the Psychology Student organization Psi-Chi, as well as the Psychology faculty and students with special events. The position disseminates completed student class evaluations by semester to each faculty member. The position requires completion of other duties as assigned, which may include generating spend authorizations, expense reports, pulling queries in MYUNLV, and other special projects.

This is a full-time position, on the UNLV main campus, Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. NO Remote work available for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with MYUNLV, Workday, Word, Excel and Google spreadsheets is highly recommended.

SALARY

Grade 25, Step 1, salary $34,305.84. “Step” means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
