Position Summary:
UTHealth is looking for an Administrative Analyst to work in our Research Compliance area. This employee will provide analytical staff services to assist in the completion of program/project functions. They will work with research coordinators and assist them with various functions such as processing intakes, screening potential participants for clinical trials, and create correspondence for clinical outcomes and inquiries. You will assist with protocols and functions that may be dictated by the Institutional Review Boards over UTHealth’s research. You should be proficient with MicroSoft’s Excel spreadsheet program, and also have a good grasp of basic accounting. This analyst will work with IRB (Institutional Review Board) billing and invoicing. You must be able to pull data to create reports that will be used in reviewing research projects.
We prefer candidates who have worked in a biological department or studied this scientific discipline in school, but this is not required. The main focus will be finding an employee who is organized, can perform basic accounting, and can write well. You need to be an excellent problem solver, and motivated to get tasks done.
This is a full time position that is clasified as salaried and non-exempt. It is eligible for all UTHealth benefits including healthcare paid for by the employer and participation in a pension plan run by the State of Texas. You will also be given paid time off as well as sick time, and be able to take all holidays recognized by the State of Texas. You will work in our University Professional Building which is in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. This building is located on the Metro rail line, and also their bus routes.

Position Key Accountabilities:
1. IRB Billing:
a. Identify industry sponsored trials and collecting fees (startup and IRB fees)
b. Identify industry sponsored studies that are eligible for annual review and collecting review fees
2. iLab Support:
a. Monthly billing support for core labs including FMS searches for budget errors and outstanding invoice resolution
b. Financial status reporting and usage reporting
c. User support for identity integration issues, funding source additions, etc.
3. Lab Archives
a. Used reporting
b. User support
4. Office of Research Administration web support: Regular minor updates using dotCMS
5. Researches, collects and analyzes large amounts of information to present data relevant to studies or projects.
6. Provides staff support to assist where necessary
7. May maintain and be responsible for database records and back up as necessary
8. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
One year of responsible professional experience. Experience using Excel and creating reports.
We prefer candidates with a background in biology, but this is not required.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
