| Organizational Unit Overview | The Division of Infectious Diseases at The Brody School of Medicine provides state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of infections. Infectious Disease doctors help ensure the timely diagnosis and treatment of acute infections by recommending the appropriate diagnostic tests to identify the source of infections and by recommending the appropriate antibiotic to treat the infection. We are dedicated to the treatment of persons infected with HIV in Eastern North Carolina. Our physicians and physician extenders currently provide care for more than 1,500 patients in our clinic in Greenville as well as another 300 patients in clinics in surrounding counties. Faculty members are currently collecting data to address the issue of the disproportionate infection rate of HIV in African Americans. The division is involved in many clinical trials involving HIV therapies. These trials provide needed drugs to persons who may otherwise not be able to receive treatment. |
| Job Duties | The primary purpose of this position is to determine patient eligibility of Ryan White services and HIV Medication Assistance Program. This position will also act as a liaison for Regional Affordable Care Act navigators. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it’s teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health. |
