Department Summary TCOM Office of Educational Programs team members provide a wealth of experience in preparing TCOM students to successfully navigate transitions at each stage of their education, as well as providing support to residents, fellows, and faculty in TCOM and TCOM-Affiliated GME programs.
Position Summary Office of Educational Programs’ Graduate Certificate in Academic Medicine focuses on developing a solid base of core academic skills and commitment to a career of teaching, scholarly investigation, and leadership in academic medicine for health professions educators. Participants include physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health care providers.
  • Lead instructor for AMED 5600 – Research Skills and Academic Health,
  • Teach concepts and processes of medical and educational research,
  • Teach biostatistics foundations, study design applications, and data harvesting and statistical analysis,
  • Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, protocols, and research approval,
  • Teach research design fundamentals, human subject protections, and research writing,
  • Oversee fellows’ research projects, including developing a research question, study design, and identifying or creating applicable data collection instruments.

Additional Posting Details

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and eight (8) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Education or Biostatistics.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and presenting/teaching curricula online.
  • Canvas experience.
  • Experience developing the presentation skills of others.
  • Experience presenting scholarly work and collaboration at the state and national levels strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
Required License / Registration / Certification
Work Schedule Part-time Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM. Some remote workdays, nights, and weekends may be required.
