Financial Services seeks an Accounting Specialist to perform a variety of accounting functions requiring initiative and independent judgment in support of the goals and objectives of Financial Services.

Flexible work options:
Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60%of their regular work week at their primary ASU work location. A hybrid schedule may be available after the completion of all training. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
The successful candidate, not presently employed within Financial Services, will be paid a signing bonus of $750.00, and a $1,250.00 bonus after completing six months of employment with the department.

This is not a grant funded position and is not contingent on future grant funding.
$20.41 per hour
- Complete new supplier records and maintains the master supplier file.
- Review and determine the appropriateness of various documents related to supplier set-up.
- Complete daily validation of supplier taxpayer identification numbers to the IRS TIN matching system and the Office of Foreign Assets Control System.
- Review the master file to validate the accuracy and completeness of data.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner.
Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field AND one (1) year of related experience; OR,Three (3) years related accounting experience; OR,Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and budgeting practices.
- Experience in maintaining and reconciling accounting and financial records.
- Evidence of effective communication.
- Working in an office setting with computers.
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time, and use hands/fingers for repetitive motions.
- Communicate to perform essential duties.
- Read-interpret written and oral instructions/directions.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
