Description We are in search of a proficient Accountant to become part of our team based in Overland Park, Kansas. As an Accountant, your primary function will be to handle various accounting functions, utilize accounting software systems, and manage both accounts payable and receivable. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Take charge of executing accounting functions with a high degree of precision.
• Utilize accounting software systems effectively to manage financial data.
• Handle accounts payable by ensuring all outgoing payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking incoming payments and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts, regularly updating and auditing them for accuracy.
• Implement ADP – Financial Services for optimized financial operations.
• Utilize Cl Programming for accounting purposes.
• Leverage Concur and ERP for effective expense management.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions, with a deep understanding of various accounting procedures and practices.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including managing invoices, verifying transactions, and ensuring timely payments.
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR), with the ability to track and record incoming payments accurately.
• Proficiency in managing Balance Sheet Account, including preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial statements.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to accounting and financial reporting.
• Detail-oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
