Description We are seeking an Accountant to join our team based in IOWA CITY, Iowa. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the agency’s full suite of accounting functions, using QuickBooks Online to maintain the general ledger. This role will also involve the preparation of monthly invoices for various funding sources and the reconciliation of all bank accounts.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring it is maintained on an accrual basis of accounting using QuickBooks Online.
• Expedite all Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Monitor Accounts Payable to ensure prompt revenue collection.
• Prepare and issue detailed monthly invoices for multiple funding sources.
• Implement and refine controls for the accurate and complete accounting of all financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis and monitor all checks not canceled within 90 days.
• Generate detailed monthly reports for multiple funding sources.
• Support Program staff in the tracking and management of department budgets.
• Submit Forms 1099 and 1096 to report non-employment income to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
• Provide Management with relevant financial reports in a timely manner.
• Attend Audit and Finance Committee meetings and assist with accounting and finance procedure training for non-accounting staff.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets for grants and related expenses. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Analysis

• Skill in Account Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledgeable in Form 1099
• Ability to handle General Ledger
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Online
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Ability to handle Daily Bank Deposits
• Experience in handling Deposits
• Ability to Prepare Bank Deposits
• Skill in preparing Deposits
