Job Summary | Provide assessment, eligibility determination and provision for academic accommodations, and other support services as needed for students with disabilities at the University of Texas at Arlington. All activities shall promote ensuring equal access for students and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (2008) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act in academic programs at the university. To maintain a case load of students with a variety of disabilities who are registered with the Student Access & Resource Center (SAR Center) and to interact with others on campus as needed to facilitate equal access for students and provide resources for faculty and staff. |

Working Conditions | Exposure to all weather conditions. Exposure to standard office conditions. Repetitive use of keyboard at workstation. |
Special Conditions for Eligibility | Knowledge of The Americans with Disabilities Act (AA, 2008) and how it applies to the higher education arena, The Rehabilitation Act (504) and applicable differences between K-12 and Higher Education services, proficiency in various modes of counseling, interpretation of psycho-educational evaluations, ability to assess and identify academic accommodation needs. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. |
