Founded when the university opened in 1891, the Cantor Arts Center is an established resource for teachingandresearchoncampus,andforthebroaderBayAreacommunity.TheCantor’scollection spans5,000yearsandincludes41,000worksofartfromaroundtheglobe,andthemuseumpresents some15specialexhibitionseachyear.In2014,theAndersonCollectionatStanfordUniversityopened next to the Cantor Arts Center, featuring a world-class collection of modern and contemporary American paintings and sculpture including Bay Area Figuration, Abstract Expressionism, and Light and Space Minimalism.
ReportingtotheDirectorofAcademicandPublicPrograms,theAcademicProgramsCoordinatorwill provideadministrativeandoperationalsupporttotheCantorArtsCenterAcademicProgramsworking under general supervision. This position will be the point person for general duties regarding Academic Programs including Cantor-Anderson Student Guides, Cantor Scholars, the Geballe Prize, Summer Internships, Cantor Curatorial Fellows, and other programs as needed.
