ReportingtotheDirectorofAcademicandPublicPrograms,theAcademicProgramsCoordinatorwill provideadministrativeandoperationalsupporttotheCantorArtsCenterAcademicProgramsworking under general supervision. This position will be the point person for general duties regarding Academic Programs including Cantor-Anderson Student Guides, Cantor Scholars, the Geballe Prize, Summer Internships, Cantor Curatorial Fellows, and other programs as needed.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding Academic Programs, determine and take appropriate action as required. Serve as a resource regarding Academic Program policies and procedures.
  • Manage scheduling, logistics, and technical aspects of Academic Programs, operating talks, seminars, conferences,andsymposia,includingrecommendingvendorsforservices,overseeingtheproduction and distribution of materials, coordinating logistics, and serving as liaison with internal and external vendors.
  • Coordinate scheduling and other logistical matters for guest speakers and visiting artists.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with student groups and campus partners for Museum Nights, a social event for Stanford students in support of content development.
  • Draft and/or generate routine communications; organize and distribute Academic Program (Student Guides)coursematerialsincludingsyllabusandreadings.
  • Distribute calls for applications and manage incoming applications for Academic Programs. Schedule and coordinate meetings related to Academic Programs with both internal museum colleagues and external vendors/participants.
  • AssistwithtrainingStudentGuides,includingleadingsmalldiscussionandworkshopgroups, developing and training students on best practices regarding in-person gallery tours, technical aspects of virtual tours, and accessibility. Manage Student Guides tour schedules.
  • Assist in developing and managing shared training involving Student Guides and volunteer docents
  • Work with Marketing & Communications to update website information related to Academic Programs.
  • May perform human resources transactional support, including manage hiring paperwork for students.
  • May assist with research and outreach for Academic Programs. Assist the Assistant Curator of Academic Engagement with researching models and best practices for curricular and student-curated exhibitions, as well as campus academic outreach and strengthening campus academic partnerships.

  • High school diploma and three years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proficientcomputerskillsanddemonstratedexperiencewithofficesoftwareandemail applications.
  • Demonstrated success in following through and completing routine tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
