JOB SUMMARY
The Academic Program Assessment Administrator (Educational Program Administrator) will provide a crucial role in developing and managing an infrastructure for assessing student learning at the program level. This position is based in the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL) and will report to the Executive Director of Academic Program Assessment and Learning Initiatives.
UConn is currently in the second year of an ambitious five-year plan to develop a culture of assessment across all undergraduate and graduate programs at the University, with a focus on identifying inequitable outcomes, and improving equity and inclusion across all academic programs. This initiative is a collaboration between CETL and the Office of the Provost and has resulted in the development of the Office of Academic Program Assessment (OAPA), which sits within CETL. The Academic Program Assessment Administrator will be crucial to the success of OAPA, with a focus on developing an infrastructure for assessment activities; supporting faculty directly in their use of software and course/program level student learning outcome alignment; and the presentation and analysis of direct and indirect data related to student-learning outcomes. The role will also include the coordination and management of day-to-day administrative activities in OAPA, including planning, developing, and designing professional development sessions for faculty related to assessment, and coordinating the assessment reporting cycle for academic programs.
The successful candidate will be confident in working independently, particularly related to the implementation of new assessment software. They must also provide individual support and training to faculty in a full range of academic disciplines and engage with different methods of assessing student learning as appropriate to varied academic fields.
