Job Description: |
This position provides general support for the Entomology & Nematology graduate academic program. Duties include general office support as well as basic assistance with admissions, program enrollment, registration, events, and records. Respond to general inquiries from applicants. Position supports academic advisor and graduate coordinator. Graduate program pre-admissions Serve as a public contact for the on-book graduate program and answers general inquiries by e-mail, telephone, and in person. Reviews admission applications and monitors submission of required materials, communicates with applicants about missing materials and admission decisions, and forwards Graduate program registration and program assistance Register on-book graduate students as requested. Manage long-term electronic student records; scan to electronic folders if in hard copy. Collate all materials for scholarship/awards committee. Send out climate survey and post-graduation plans survey each semester; prepare annual report on results. Develop and manage alumni database and communications. Solicit information, follow-up, and enter into SACS database for graduate and undergraduate coordinator SACS accreditation reports for academic programs. Send out, receive, and electronically file semester evaluations. Prepare student achievement and academic programs recognition for inclusion in departmental newsletter. Update course catalogs, student handbooks, program websites, and bulletin boards. Input or retrieve data relating to applications, student enrollment, course scheduling, grades, and course and instructor evaluations. Support academic course (fall professional development seminar) including set up Zoom, prepare Canvas site, upload class materials, and assist with classroom technology Arrange for dissertation/thesis binding Collect course syllabi each semester and provide to webmaster Label graduate student mailboxes each semester Update Google calendar on web with academic milestones (defenses, proposals) Provides support for departmental events Facilitate academic events such as new graduate student orientation, scholarship receptions, Graduate Student Appreciation week, online/in-person graduate recruitment weekend or departmental tours Provide support to student-led peer mentoring program “Make it Count” Coordinate departmental or program events Performs general office duties Provide reception, answer telephones, and order supplies. |
Expected Salary: |
$15.80 – $18.19 per hour. |
Minimum Requirements: |
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience. |
