Job Summary Academic advising to prospective and current CSE graduate students with programs and information to supplement and enhance student retention and graduation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Routine advising of current students, advise students seeking minors.
  • Advise prospective students.
  • Conduct verification of degree progress.
  • Remove holds and place students on permission lists.
  • Assist in data preparation for queries that come in from outside the department.
  • Analyze and interpret student data, transcripts and placement results.
  • Recruitment and event planning, including representing the department at various UTA events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience working with college students or adolescents in an academic advising/counseling capacity or the equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Six years of experience in a related field, computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office and PeopleSoft .
Working Conditions Standard office setting. Repetitive use of keyboard. Ability to travel to different campus locations. May include virtual academic advising work from an on campus office. Work repetitively at a desk and computer.
Special Conditions for Eligibility Hired person is expected to work in person in their office on campus 5 days a week for at least the first 6 months, before hybrid remote work can be offered.
