Academic Advisor

NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Academic Advisor in the Undergraduate College. The Academic Advisor will provide in depth academic advising, general counseling, and related student services for prospective, new, and currently enrolled students primarily, but not exclusively within the Stern School of Business. Familiarize students with the many academic and co-curricular resources and opportunities available at Stern and New York University as a whole. Develop and coordinate academic support programming, promote study away opportunities, and interview candidates for international exchanges, various student leadership positions and Stern-sponsored programs. Assist in the marketing of academic programs through website updates, social media, webinars, and advising office publications. Collaborate with team on various projects including generating and analyzing reports and making recommendations to facilitate decision making.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (a Master’s Degree is preferred) and 3+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include counseling or student personnel administration, and event planning experience. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty and outside groups, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with Microsoft Office is also required. The successful candidate will be creative, innovative, and dynamic. This role requires some evening and weekend work.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 – $85,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
