Job Description:

Marketing and Communication

Manage all aspects of division marketing and communication efforts on all mediums to include social media, website, magazine, events and initiatives;

Develop original content and locate appropriate content for use across all mediums to include social media, website, television, magazine, etc.

Responsible for coordination and management of all division program initiatives including events, conferences and workshops. Ability to manage various long-term projects as assigned

Ensure adequate awareness of all division programs and initiatives with internal UF departments and external business, agencies and partners;

Communicate and coordinate projects with internal and external contractors and suppliers

Reporting and Compliance
Manage key supplier diversity metrics reporting and tracking to measure program’s success and to identify areas of non-compliance or deficiencies;

Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reports of supplier diversity metrics Present reports communicating pertinent details about findings

Internal Support
Coordinate and facilitate training involving departmental and academic personnel concerning small & diverse business utilization and compliance;
Coordinate and conduct activities for internal user groups focused on building and maintaining effective relations while promoting the awareness and utilization of small and diverse businesses;

Establish and maintain effective communications within university to identify opportunities for small and diverse businesses to support the operational needs of departments/academic units and the university’s overall mission involving research, education and public service;

Ensure goals and objectives for the division and university are communicated with regard to small and diverse business utilization;

Ability to identify potential internal strategic partners for various division initiatives and programming

Support current business relationships and assist with establishing new ones with key internal and external customers aimed at promoting and advancing supplier diversity within the university environment.

Maintain and manage relationships with university departments and academic units including Procurement, Facilities/Construction personnel, and research units – before, after and during contract periods to advance supplier diversity and support the operational needs of the departments/academic units.

External Support
Establish and maintain effective communications business community to opportunities for small and diverse businesses to support the operational needs of departments/academic units and the university’s overall mission involving research, education and public service;

Ensure mission, goals and objectives for the division and university are communicated to small and diverse businesses;

Identify potential external strategic partners for various division initiatives and programming

Support current business and partnership relationships and assist with establishing new partnerships

Ensure businesses are aware of all appropriate procurement and bid opportunities from all of our various departments including Procurement, Facilities, etc.

Ensure business community is aware of upcoming program events Work with firms to support subcontractor outreach efforts

Conference and Tradeshows
Ability to attend/travel to conference, tradeshows, etc. (in-state and out-of-state)

Ability to communicate program functions and services offered to small business community,

Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of the division and the position

Special Projects/Assignments
Assist with special projects/assignments as necessary

A criminal background will be conducted.

Normal work hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.  Position has potential for hybrid.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $46,000 – $53,000 yearly, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING

– Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Marketing or closely related field or five years of appropriate experience in supplier diversity

EXPERIENCE
– Prior experience in Supplier Diversity, Procurement or higher education desired

KNOWLEDGE
– General business knowledge
– Knowledge of Supplier Diversity or Procurement

SKILLS
– Exceptional writing and communication skills
– General leadership skills
– Personal computer and software related skills (e.g. databases, word processing applications. & spreadsheets);

ABILITIES
– Ability to establish and build relationships internally among a diverse workforce at all levels of the university and externally with businesses and organizations in the promoting and advancing of Supplier Diversity;

– Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and promote the division to help build awareness, utilization and compliance regarding the use of small and diverse businesses
