Maintenance Generalist I/Equipment R & M Assistant Technician

As directed, performs routine landscape equipment preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter
replacements, belt inspections and replacements, blade sharpening, and trimmer head replacements.

As requested, assists with repairs and maintenance of commercial landscape maintenance and
construction equipment including Z-Turn deck mowers, street sweepers, backhoes, front-end loaders, utility
tractors and utility vehicles.

Independently, maintains equipment repair shop cleanliness as required and as directed by the Lead
Technician.

Assists with basic metals fabrication by electric, MIG, or acetylene welding or brazing.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

A criminal background and post-offer health assessment will be conducted.

Work hours 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
Position considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

Drives a state vehicle that requires a valid class driver license.

Expected starting salary $16.00 hourly based on experience.

A high school diploma (or equivalent) and zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Strong knowledge of small engine maintenance and repair.
Applicable vocational training and 6 months hands-on experience.
Metal fabrication skills including welding aluminum
