| Job Description: |
- Use validated methods to extract and prepare residue samples for analysis.
- Prepare standard solutions and reagents required for analysis.
- Analyze samples using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC) with various detection systems, primarily triple quadrupole mass spectrometers.
- Perform and document activities in compliance with EPA Good Laboratory Practices and laboratory standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate analytical methods and modify as necessary to achieve acceptable method performance.
- Optimize analytical instrument parameters to achieve acceptable, reliable performance.
- Validate method used for sample analysis.
- Review literature for changes/improvements in preparative/analytical procedures.
- Operate computer-based automated data collection systems for data acquisition, processing, and quantitation.
- Review data and assist with generation of reports.
- Assist with photocopying and/or scanning of documents.
- Conduct routine instrument cleaning, maintenance, and basic instrument troubleshooting.
- General lab maintenance and cleaning.
- Participate in required training activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Expected Salary: |
$48,000 – $68,000; Commensurate with Experience.

| Minimum Requirements: |
A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field and one year of relevant experience; or Doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field.

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience with sample preparation techniques and the use and maintenance of LC/MS/MS instrumentation.
- Experience working in a regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory concepts, practices, and procedures.
