About the Role
The main purpose of this role is to 1) work on a 24/7 rota with other clinical research fellows recruiting patients to clinical research trials and observational studies, and 2) undertake a project in the laboratory and/or clinic, investigating trauma haemorrhage and coagulopathic bleeding.
Essential requirements include: a UK-registerable basic medical qualification; MBBS, MRCS or equivalent; completion of Foundation Year medical training; and experience of managing patients with severe injury.
About You
The post is within the Trauma Sciences research team, which is housed within the Blizard Institute. The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
The post-holder will also spend a significant amount of time working alongside the clinical trauma team at the Royal London Hospital.
Approximately 50% of the post holder time will be spent working on our research rota.
The on-call frequency and requirement for prospective cover on the research rota would suit post holders who live in the Greater London area.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of in February 2023. There is a possibility of a further 1-or 2 years extension, depending on funds. The starting salary will be in the range of £35,254- £40,492 per annum, plus London Allowance.
