Job Description:

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, seeks a full time faculty at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be a BC/BE adult neurosurgeon with specialty interest in Neuro- Trauma. The candidate should have expertise in the management of Neuro-Trauma patients which include management of both cranial and spine patients.  UF Health Jacksonville is the only level- one trauma hospital in the region with a large and complex volume of Neuro-trauma patients.

This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. As a member of the Department of Neurosurgery, the individual will have the opportunity to enjoy a multidisciplinary collaboration with colleagues utilizing departmental case reviews and tumor board conferences. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in shared general neurosurgery responsibilities, teaching, and research.   

General Duties:

  • Provide and maintain a high level of quality and compassionate care to both inpatients and outpatients from a wide variety of cases, but with specific emphasis on Neuro-Trauma.
  • Provide clinical teaching of trainees in Neurosurgery and participate in the educational and research programs. Participate as a member of the Neurosurgery team through collaborative case reviews and tumor board conferences.
  • Rotational Level 1 trauma call for the organization.
  • Responsible for building relationships and establishing excellent communication with primary care physicians, specialist and other stakeholders to enhance patient care and grow patient volumes.
  • Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions, and institutional committees as requested.
