Job Description:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology is seeking a full time Research Coordinator III. Coordinate research programs, including preparation and submission of grants, reports to federal and non-federal agencies, interactions with collaborators, including travel, preparation of scientific abstracts, manuscripts and presentations, and assist PI and Study Coordinator with maintaining all regulatory and sponsor-required documentation. The program involves current and planned federally and non-federally-funded clinical and translational research and clinical trials of congenital and acquired life-threatening metabolic diseases of children and adults. It will be essential for the Coordinator to carefully read and become very familiar with all aspects of the individual projects. This will require regular review and revision of the documents related to each research project, as well as knowledge of any changes that may become necessary, as indicated by the PI.

Essential Functions;

Research Program Coordination

1. In coordination with the PI, prepares grant applications and progress reports to project sponsors and funding agencies.
2. Prepares abstracts, manuscripts and other research-related documents for publication or dissemination to collaborating or funding entities.
3. Arranges virtual and/or in-person meetings of PI with collaborators or other personnel on/off UF campus.
4. Development of source documents to meet the requirements of each study protocol.
5. Coordinate with fiscal processor for invoicing of sponsor, purchase requests, and payment of overhead expenses.
6. Develops and analyzes Clinical Research activities for volunteer participants and makes changes in methods and procedures as necessary

Regulatory & Compliance
1. Coordinates with the PI and Clinical Trial Coordinators to prepare all regulatory documents, including those to local and other IRBs, FDA, and other federal and industry sponsors.
2. Working with Laboratory Director, ensure laboratory meets EH&S safety and other operational requirements and ensure all staff are up-to-date on mandatory institutional training and competency requirements.
3. Maintain working knowledge of current code of federal regulations (CFR), GCP/ICH guidelines and apply to awarded research projects.
4. Facilitate study close out activities
5. Retain records/archive documents after study close out

Research Administration & Clerical
1. Purchase office and laboratory supplies and equipment as needed.
2. Ensure research undergraduate students maintain qualifications for laboratory work and schedule meetings and seminars with students, PI and other staff.
3. Participates in promoting Human Subjects Protections within Clinical Research areas.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 – $59,262

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years research coordinator experience
• Prior or current federal award experience
• Track record of successful grant applications
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and IRB submissions
• Prior experience supervising volunteers and students
