The Department of Medicine, Administration is seeking a full time Administrative Specialist II. This position works directly with the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs and oversees the administrative activities for this unit within the Department’s central administration. Primary responsibilities include the coordination of the promotion and tenure process and mid-career reviews. Additional responsibilities include supporting faculty development activities, compiling data as requested, and providing advanced administrative support to the Vice Chair. The incumbent must be highly organized and motivated individual with a capacity for hard work, able to work within team and have strong customer service skills. This role receives and maintains confidential information and must interpret University and College policies and procedures regarding promotion and tenure. Essential Functions; Along with the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs, coordinate the promotion and tenure process for faculty within the Department of Medicine. The overall process spans many months and must ensure critical deadlines are met throughout the process. Maintain organizational tools and data repositories to support the individuals going up for promotion. Ensure applications are complete, orderly, and accurate. Interface with all department, college and university systems for promotion and tenure. Manage the voting process and maintain accurate records. Along with the Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs, coordinate the mid-career review process for faculty within the Department of Medicine. The overall process spans many months and must ensure critical deadlines are met throughout the process. Maintain organizational tools and data repositories to support the individuals going up for review. Ensure applications are complete, orderly, and accurate. Interface with all department, college and university systems for mid-career review. Provide administrative support for the activities of the office of faculty affairs. This includes scheduling meetings, workshops, and special events; compiling and disseminating data as requested; and organizing data repositories in support of faculty development. Must establish priorities and meet deadlines. Provide advanced administrative support for the Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs as requested. This includes calendar management, special administrative projects, and communications on behalf of the office of faculty affairs.

$50,000 – $53,000 Annually |
| Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelors degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
