Job Summary

Caliber Public Schools is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Elevate Teacher Residency. This innovative, one-year program is designed for aspiring educators seeking to pursue a California teaching credential while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic learning environment. Residents will work alongside an experienced mentor teacher, engage in professional learning with a cohort of peers, and contribute to creating an inclusive and engaging classroom culture committed to student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach 4-5 days a week alongside a mentor teacher, including planning and implementing engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Work with individual, small groups and whole class groups of students to provide differentiated support and create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to assess student progress and implement interventions as needed.
  • Participate in professional development with a cohort of peers.
  • Engage with families and the community to foster strong relationships that support student success.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $25/hour (Approx. $40,000/year)

Credentials Offered:

  • Multiple Subject TK-5
  • Single Subject: Mathematics, Science, Social Science, ELA, Spanish
  • Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree by May 2025
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (lower GPA considered with exemption letter)
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • TB clearance and fingerprint clearance
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a classroom setting or educational program is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional learning throughout the residency year.
