2 Research Fellowships (# of pos: 2)

Applications are invited for 2 research fellowships at the Portucalense Infante D. Henrique University (UPT), within the framework of the activities carried out by the R&D Unit No 4112 – Portucalense Legal Institute (IJP), under the Contract-Program UIDB/04112/2020, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. (FCT), according to the following terms:

Work plan

The IJP is a research center in legal sciences aiming to promote, support and disseminate scientific research in this area of knowledge. It is composed of four groups of research: “Heritage”, “International Policy and Governance”, “Persons”, and “Process”. Thus, the fellowship holders will take part in IJP’s activities by contributing to the research carried out in one of R&D Unit’s groups of research, specifically targeting the following tasks:

• Development of a research plan under the R&D Unit’s strategic goals.
• Contribution to top-quality journal and conference publications within the scope of their field of research.
• Presenting lectures related to their field of research.
• Engaging in the organization of REMIT scientific events falling within their field of research.
• Fostering partnership networks deemed relevant to the R&D Unit within their work of research.

Fellowship duration

This fellowship post will be offered on a 12-month contract, possibly renewed, predictably starting in December 2022, and carried out on an exclusive basis.

The fellowship cannot be granted, according to article 6, paragraph 3, of the FCT RBI, if the timescale required for the contract procedure does not allow a minimum 3-consecutive month contract. Contract renewal, if any, will comply with article 6 of the FCT RBI.

The call is open from 03/11/2022 to 17/11/2022 (until 11.59 pm, Lisbon time).

• Motivation letter;
• MSc degree certificate or, alternatively, a declaration of honour by the applicant confirming the completion of the MSc degree by the end of the application deadline, specifying the final grade and the higher education institution awarding the degree;
• Detailed curriculum vitae;
• Declaration of honour confirming compliance with the terms set out by article 6, paragraph 5, of the RBI (see template below);
• Any other documents deemed relevant by the applicant.

The undersigned _______________________________________________________________, with the citizen card/visa/residence permit No__________, valid until __/__/____, declares not to exceed with this fellowship contract, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two consecutive or interpolated years under that same contract typology, pursuant to article 6, paragraph 5, of the Regulation for Research Studentships and Fellowships (Regulation No 950/2019 of 16 December) of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.

Workplace

The research fellow will be working at the premises of UPT, under the scientific coordination of a supervisor, to be appointed according to the scope of the research work carried out.
