Job Description:

The Lastinger Center for Learning is an education innovation hub within UF’s College of Education focused on creating equitable education systems that improve teaching and learning across early childhood and K-12 education. Specifically, the Center targets kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading proficiency, and algebra proficiency as critical milestones in children’s educational trajectory that are predictive of success in school and life. The Center works at the nexus of research, practice, and policy to develop sustainable systems that leverage educational technologies and improve the implementation of research-based practices. Housed in one of the nation’s elite public research universities, the Center operates as a dynamic, entrepreneurial workplace focused on executing against UF’s service mission to strengthen the human condition and improve the quality of life.

Collaborate to ensure handoff for timely delivery

  • Collaborate with members of the XD2 team to establish systems and document processes to schedule LMS loads or other delivery, reviews, and approvals to meet product launch dates or asset releases
  • Conduct post project assessments and evaluations, including lessons learned and other project closure activities

Establish scope, schedule, and budget for multiple projects

  • Meet with internal teams or customer to determine customer expectations regarding the project.
  • Translate business objectives into projects with clearly defined scope, timing, deliverables, resources, and key measures of success
  • Create project plans, including project schedules/timelines and milestones, and a schedule for monitoring and reporting project status

  • Develop SOWs and proposals for client project requests in collaboration with relationship leads, Content Manager, and business development/strategy team, serving as temporary project lead until kick off
  • Seek vendor bids and negotiate vendor contracts for project specific work

Monitor active projects and report project status

  • Collaborate to establish monitoring systems for project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations as required
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of project statuses for internal stakeholders and methods to include external audiences appropriately
  • Proactively manage and communicate ongoing changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans in collaboration with project teams
  • Collaborate with Learning Services Coordinator to prepare for enrollment-related activities

Participate as an active member of the Content and Learning Services Team

  • Attending meetings and focus groups as requested
  • Collaborate as appropriate with other teams and within the Lastinger Center
  • Maintain daily communication with the Content Manager
  • Track time in accordance with established team processes to align work time to billable projects
  • Participate in planning and delivery of promotional presentations, conference sessions, etc, as required
  • Support the continuous development of best practices and tools for project management and execution

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 – $75,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred
  • Experience in education project management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with remote teams
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, superior oral and written communication skills, ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ability to work proactively on a broad range of project support.
