The University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Occupational Medicine to commence as soon as possible. The professorship is combined with a consultancy at Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital, Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, The Capital Region.
It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. Job description
The clinical professor acts as chair of the speciality and takes the lead in the general development of the speciality’s academic identity. Also, the clinical professor is the guarantor of the academic quality and relevance in the content of exam assignments.
In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Occupational Medicine.
For the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the candidate’s ability to document research leadership and ability to attract external funding together with a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Occupational Medicine. It is also a requirement that the applicant has adequate qualifications to provide teaching.
The professor is expected to carry out and supervise research, provide teaching, and publish/communicate scientific findings. Furthermore, it involves an obligation to handle research management to the extent appropriate for the tasks and requirements of the Department of Public Health. Other than the clinical work, cf. the position as consultant, the task will include development of the subject area, research and undergraduate teaching, research education, further education of researchers, and assessment of scientific work, lectures, exam clinics, exams, participation in coordinating clinics and symposia and other teaching. The distribution between the different tasks may vary over time.

Terms of employment
The position is a permanent position. For the professorship the appointee will receive a pensionable annual salary of 195.859 DKK (1 April 2022 level).
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

Application procedure
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee. All applicants are then immediately notified whether their application has been passed for assessment. The Dean then appoints an expert assessment committee in order to make an assessment of the selected applicants for the specific post. Selected applicants are notified of the composition of the committee and each applicant has the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that relates to the applicant him/herself.
