RecSports – Water Safety Instructor 

• Instruct group and private swimming lessons

• Evaluate participant swimming ability and determine correct swim level

• Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants

• Be available as needed to discuss the participant’s course evaluation with the parents/guardians and/or participants

• Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach

• Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested

• Adhere to and enforce all the policies and procedures

• Complete all necessary planning and paperwork inherent to the class

• Perform other job related tasks as assigned

$14.00/hour

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

• University of Florida student
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification (or willing to obtain by start date)
• Must be able to commit to at least 6 hours per week (evenings)
• Available to work Spring 2023

• Comfortability in and around the water.
• Customer service minded.

An American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification/experience teaching lessons is not required to apply.

If offered the position, it is required to obtain the certification by the start date.

This is a time-limited position.
